Main thing I like about EAS is the cross-linking. I have pictures of my own LR3 articulating like a sonofabitch in a cross-axle situation and there is no way the coils will do that. So I keep it. If a guy is really worried about the EAS crapping out on a long trip they can disable it.
What really takes out the EAS nowadays? A bad compressor (check it before the trip) or a shock going **** (check it before the trip by raising up the front end and ensuring clearance between the canister and the control arm).
