@morrisdl: have you already tried fitting the AMK? If so, did you try it with the re-location bracket from Tactical? I'm looking for a glimmer of hope....maybe the Arnott is it.

Okay now that I've clicked the link: this could really save my bacon in terms of not needing to ruin my sliders. It looks a lot smaller than the AMK. The fact that it fits in the OE box is encouraging, but someone will have to verify that it mounts in the same spot and "lives" in the same spatial envelope. It sure has a small heat sink, too, compared to the AMK. I hope that doesn't lead to issues with overheating. I may go without the acoustic box myself, since the sliders protect it. That would help with the dissipation of heat.

off topic but Yes - the AMK w/the TR relo bracket still requires cutting of the RS slider. It will all bolt together, but the touching makes a horrible racket. I didnt want to cut, so I went the rebuilt Hitachi route. I have never used the acoustic compressor box since I put my sliders on ~5 years ago. I agree heat is the enemy.

Did you try any kind of damping material between the bracket and the sliders and/or the frame to reduce the noise? I'm thinking some kind of foam sheet.

I dont think anything extra would fit. I didn't want to push on the compressor to hard - there was still a small gap between the slider and the frame rail and it was already touching the compressor. Thats when I gave up and went back to rebuilding the Hitachi.

Hmmm....and a person couldn't somehow move the mounting location up and fwd a little further? Drill a new hole on the rail or something? Ughhhh.....I hope this new Dunlop we are hearing about will work!
