Air Suspension question for rear brake pad job
I found a local shop (non land rover) that will do my rear brakes. I have the kit with pads, wire and discs. I don't remember do they have to do anything to the suspension when they jack up the rear? I seem to remember it going off when it was jacked up for new tires. Just curious if I have to give them any special instructions on the air suspension when doing a rear brake job.
Thanks!
Thanks!
The brake job itself is fairly straight forward. Sometimes putting the suspension into Access height (and locking it) helps, as long as you can get the lift or jack under the rig still. Other times I just put it in Off-road Height. You have to sort of "fight" the suspension a little but eventually it will go up.
If they pickup the whole truck on a lift then no need for any special instructions, just check the height setting when you get back in and make sure it's set to normal. Which it would automatically do as you drove away after you get passed a certain speed. I can't image the local shop will do a brake job with a hand jack on a LR. If so then ya, you can either yank the fuse or just set the height afterwards back to normal with the toggle switch. I would question not doing this on a lift... Also, the proper jacking procedure is in the manual. I believe LR recommends first putting the truck in off road height when using a hand jack. Hopefully some of this helps

Trying to understand why not just leave it normal mode? I don't understand what harm is done but I remember someone saying it needs to be low or high mode. I don' quite understand why it matters if the car is jacked up by floor jacks vs a frame jack. I just tell them not to put the jack on the air tanks.
Just a F/U had the rear brakes done I supplied the parts. Cost $340.00 out the door. LR dealer 60 miles away was 500.00 w my parts or 1,000 using their parts.
For some reason they would not do the plugs said go to foreign car shop. Just saw a video on LR3 Plug change and it did not look that hard. Maybe I'm missing something. I'm no mechanic but have changed 100s of snowmobile plugs. Not sure why they thought it was so hard.
