Default Airbag light

First post for me, just picked up a 2006 LR3 this week and have been starting to work through issues.

Biggest issue I have is the Airbag SRS light is on. I have the Autel AP200 with the LR tools (seems to work okay, was the easiest to get at present). I’m seeing a code for drivers seatbelt pretensioner open. I’ve tested it and compared to the passenger and I have about 2 ohms under the seats for both so I don’t think it’s that. It’s showing 10.2 ohms for the driver’s pretensioner when I look at the live data.

There are lots of posts referring to the clock spring with the SRS light. Does anyone have experience with a similar situation and this being the cause? It just seems odd that this would be causing it.

First of all, welcome to the forum and the joy that is Land Rover.

Secondly, people are going to jump in here and say to get the Gap tool. I had the AP200 for a minute and it was actually pretty impressive, especially for the price. I ended up getting a great deal on on the Gap and wanted to mess with something the autel didn't do, I think it was adding a lift but not sure. But it competently read most if not all of the ECU's and it clearly is reading the SRS module.

Thirdly, and related to above: if the ECM has told the display to throw the SRS light, and the ECM tells you (via Autel) that it's the driver's side pretensioner, that is where I'd focus. I personally am not not familiar with that error or device, but if it's swappable with the passenger, I'd do that and see if it moves. If not, I'd get a wiring diagram and trace the wires back to wherever they go, including whatever fuse services it. Wiring is a common fault with these rigs and a break or unintentional ground could conceivably trigger this. Digging around indicates an accident that fired the pretensioner could cause this. Any chance? See https://landroverforums.com/forum/lr...-needed-48740/ and all the attachments.

Anywho, that's how I'd go about it. Stay strong on the AP200! I'm sure others will chime in with helpful advice.

Default Success!

Thanks for the advice,

Tonight, I finally had some success with this! It seems the connector under the seat was the issue which is interesting because I had looked at it before. If it comes back on I know where to look at least. As you suggested, focusing on that part seems to have been the ticket.

Hopefully it stays off now!
