Default Alternative to dealer for tranny flush

Has anyone used a "regular" transmission shop to flush the tranny on their LR3? $800 - $1000 from dealer, or independents following the same process, is a bit much to swallow.

In another thread of mine on this subject, one respondent said transmission and service shops have the equipment to backflush the transmission through the filter, just like I've had done on every previous vehicle I have owned with an auto trans.

If they warranty their work, and you pay by credit card incase you need some one to dispute things if something goes wrong. Not that it will. Would advise doing well before the 150,000 10 year hogwash that LR writes in their manuals. Just another way to give a good deal to the lease my truck guys and push maintenance costs to the next guy.

Here are the pages torn from the LR3 shop manual that explain what they have to do, like drop the exhaust system. If you want the whole set, it is a free download in my signature. Even if you don't DIY you know what is going on behind the curtain at the stealership.
