Default Another compressor problem.

Hey brains trust,
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
I have a 2005 4.4 V8 petrol. I recently had the suspension fault light appear on the dash. This occurred after I was driving down a dirt road, hit a pothole and heard the compressor or tank empty with a long hiss. Seemed to work OK albeit with the dash light. Fault code now says slow filling. I presume from this that my compressor needs to be replaced. The interesting thing with this fault now is that upon starting an audible hiss for about 10-15 seconds prior to the fault code appearing on dash. Oh and now car will not raise at all. Can anyone offer advice or is ar simple as a new compressor??
Thank you
Aaron

Most likely there is a leak.
You will need to visually inspect the area where you hear the "hissing" sound and and get some soapy water in a spray bottle and start spraying around the compressor (you will need to remove the cover for best results) and all of the lines near the sound.

Unlikely to need a new compressor, as above you need to check the compressor and air lines for ruptured hose or leaks, also check which compressor you have.
If its a hitachi order the rebuild kit from 4x4air seals or X8R on ebay, if its an AMK then get the service kit, i would also check that the compressor mounting bracket hasn't broken.

I wonder if the dryer snapped. Saw it once before. Dryer is the black canister on the compressor. So as mentioned, locate the leak.

How often do you drive on the beach in Sandy Beach Australia? I'd also check for leaks in the reservoir tank that runs along the frame forward of the compressor. They can rust and start to leak in some climates... Spray it with the soapy mixture as noted above.
