Default bad instrument panel?

I have a 2005 LR3 and the instrument panel is sometimes working---sometimes not. Sometimes none of the gauges work and then all of a sudden they start working......same with the mileage display. Anyone have this problem and what is the most common cure? thanks, don

I think I've read where the connections on the back of the panel can come loose... someone might chime in on the procedure to remove the cluster.

Default bad instrument panel?

Thankyou.......it indeed acts as either a power or ground problem as ALL the instrument panel outputs are affected.
Would be great if anyone out there could give the removal procedure for the instrument panel.....

This thread has the removal process. A side note his problem turned out to be a loose connection. https://landroverforums.com/forum/lr...cluster-59618/

Default bad instrument panel?

Thanks everyone for your help! wanted to update the repair......I took out the instrument panel and by fiddling with the electrical connector could make the instrument panel flicker on and off but could not consistently make it work so i just slightly bent the pins that are in the panel hoping to make a better connection......still no consistent result so i took apart the electrical connector and took out each wire terminal one at a time and slightly squeezed them with a needle nose plier to make them connect better with the pins........so far it is working flawlessly.......also......if you are patient and careful you do not have to take the steering wheel off to remove the instrument panel.....just carefully take the column upper and lower covers off and the closing panel that goes up and down with the column as it tilts.....then you can reach in and remove the two torx screws that hold the panel
