Default Both seats stopped working . . . and more leaks!

Hello all!

Chasing down yet ANOTHER freaking leak in the driver-side footwell! Went to take out the driver's seat so I can get rid of the water, dry it out, and try and find the leak location. As it turns out both my driver and passenger side seats will not move, making it difficult if not impossible to remove the driver side. This is a recent change as I drove it a few days ago and they did work. I have checked both fuses and they're a-okay, so trying to figure out what would cause the movement to stop. The lumbar fill on the driver seat still works, but the movement on both does not.

On another note . . . when I pour water into the outside most channel (green in the drawing) in the sunroof, it goes through the drain as normal, no apparent leaks. If I spill any water outside of that channel (into the red area) it comes out in my headliner. Is this normal?

Pretty sure the red area is outside the gutter area. Keep in mind, the sunroof drain system is only designed to take water that gets past the seal. So the gutter is position below that, to catch water dripping in. And I think you know ,drainage on top does not mean drainage below. I assume you did, but I will ask if you checked all four drain tube rubber ends?

Yep, just got the leak sorted as you were posting I believe. Although a previous owner put new drains on the passenger side, and both rears, the driver side appears to be original, and when I pulled it out it was rotted. A new one is on the way.

Now I just need to figure out what stopped both seats from moving.

I remember reading about someone whose vanity light circuit board went bad and it killed a lot of different functions in the car. I did recently notice my vanity lights no longer work. And when I press the center (rear) dome light button the lights flicker and buzz. If I press the center front the lights turn off and on as normal though. So I have something electrical going on.

So I figured out the seat issue. While installing the passenger mirror from a previous leak issue the wires that power the mirror lights got pinched and shorted together. And as crazy as it is, if those wires/that circuit isn't functioning, neither will your seats. So if you've recently removed your vanity mirrors and put them back in, and your seats aren't working, that might be the issue. I rewired the connection, put a new fuse in, and boom. Flickering dome light . . . fixed, seats not working . . . fixed.

Thanks for posting the fix - classic Land Rover wiring logic I guess
