Default Brake Line Rupture

Hi Gents. So, looks like the old girl has a ruptured brake line. I felt the pedal turn soft while i was driving. Upon closer inspection, there was brake fluid burning off of my Cat. So, at least i know where the failure is.

Does anyone have a sense of how hard it will be to access ? Does the whole exaust system need to be dropped ? I have 259k on it and just did belts, pulleys, tensioners, and arms all around. Runs well. stops crappy !

That's kind of scary....if the situation got dire, would you have remembered to use the EPB???? I guess you can't really answer that, but it's fun to speculate!

It didn’t fail instantly. Had time to stop.

Good videos. But I will add that its may be common for the rear lines to rust... but it it not common for a leak up front. In fact I have never seen rusty lines bad enough to leak fro the middle of the truck forward. Always the rears. For it to leak on a cat, the leak would have to be pretty far forward and high up. I really cant even think exactly where they leak would happen for fluid to drip onto a cat.
