Default A/C compressor pulley?

Has anyone successfully replaced the pully/bearing assembly for the A/C compressor? Mine is starting to scream at me when I start the engine. It goes away after about 5 minutes, but since I'll be driving halfway across the US in about a month I need to get it sorted out.
I'd love to not have to deal with evac/recharging my AC system, plus it looks like a pain to replace the entire compressor.
I saw someone do it but I think it was the TDV6 and mine is the 4.4 v8.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Does it make noise with AC both on and off?

On or off doesn't seem to matter.

Okay, asked because if there is a restriction issue it can get loud also.

Default Worn Drive belt?

How new is your aux drive belt. Could that be the source of the noise?

Confirmed noise is coming from AC compressor.
