A.C. not cooling.
Is the compressor clutch engageing? You can see the clutch, it is connected to the pully. It should not rotate if the A/C is off, but should engage and rotate if A/C is on. If the clutch is engaged and you still do not have cool air. Check to see if the condensor fans are on. The condensor is a radiator for freon. Not the engine glycol radiator. The condensor is usually mounted on the front of the main engine radiator with a fan that blows on it changing the high pressure gas back into a liquid. If this fan is not on then you will not have cool air. Above those two checks would mean you have either a problem with your expansion valve, a freon leak or a dead compressor.
lr3 does not have a clutch. it a freewheeling system without a clutch.
did you refill it, or just check pressures?
its always with some time and mileage to drain it with the proper machine to see what is in it, if its low then you probably have a leak and then add dye refill and wait to see where it comes out. some machines can perform leak tests and then you can see if it detects a leak. Doesn't mean you will spot the leak but at if no leak is detected and still no ac then its something else.
You don't have rear ac by any chance do you. I have seen the rear ac line rot out at the connection over the rear axle. If that goes then seriously, the lines are a real bitch and will cost you more in labour then the parts themselves. you have to remove the exhaust, the compressor and lots of other stuff to get to it. Thats if none of the studs snap off on the body. had to remove some seats and carpets to drill out the stud and install new body hardware to keep the lines intact. and this was a car in warrantee by two days with pounds and pounds of salt on it from out in Syracuse.everything rusted up and snapped.

There is no such thing as a clutchless compressor. How else would you activate the compressor without a clutch assembly. It's like saying you have no torque converter or transmission. Just looked at a picture of the compressor and it is there. Do not put dye in your system. The only materials that go in are Pax oil and Freon. Do the checks I posted. HVAC Certified over 15 years.
first off the dye is ac dye. that can only be added with the right equipment. Secondly, there is no traditional clutch, its a freewheeling clutch. Its not separate from the system. It aint cheap and trust me its almost a grand for one.
its not a disco one, its alot newer and different. Don't believe me, then use your experience and find out the system itself instead of assuming what it is. if you aint trained in newer rovers don't bother to contradict me.
