Default A/C troubleshooting

I’m a total rookie when it comes to air conditioning.

My LR3 is not blowing air as cold as it could.

Short of taking it to a qualified AC shop, are there troubleshooting steps to go through and certain pressure specifications to aim for first?

My understanding is it could be a slow leak, or could be an issue with the compressor.

I do have an AC manifold gauge.

Most AC have a dye in the fluid so leaks are easier to find. Known faults are the rear AC if fitted, has leaky pipes.

Thanks, Globetrotter.

Does anyone know the standard pressure specs when connected with a gauge?

You can google the pressure charts. The Rover has the same general automotive AC pressures and they are based on ambient air temps, so there is no exact pressure to go by.

Thanks. I googled before posting but didn’t use the term “chart.” Success now
