Mobile coverage drops of rather quickly once you leave the main highways and populated area's.
How do you completely stop the static so that it only comes on when people talk? Is there an automatic squelch option so i dont have to keep turning the **** as im driving? Also does HAM .. which is longer range ... run off the same antaae ir i need a 2nd one..

I rarely find it an issue, we generally switch to a less used channel if we find too much chit chat going on. People that do remote travel here use HF radio which has a much larger antennae for the specific frequency.
