Hi all!

This is my first time posting on your board, but I have been browsing quite frequently the past few months and have found a lot of helpful tips!
The reason why I am posting today is because I have a problem with my 2006 LR3 SE. While I've been driving on the highway, every once in a while I get a notice saying "REDUCED ENGINE PERFORMANCE" and it will stay on for a few miles and disappear. Its come on a few times before, but I've never noticed anything different in the way the truck drives, sounds, or feels so I didn't think much of it. Lately it has started to happen more frequently and after it turns off, I get the amber CEL that stays on for most of the day. It is usually off by the next morning.
The only difference I've noticed in my truck is when I am parked in idle, the RPMs fluctuate almost to the point of the truck stalling.
I am heading into an indy mechanic tomorrow and just wanted to get your guys opinion as to what it might be. I do not have a warranty so I obviously don't want to get raked over the coals here price wise.

BTW I have 57000 miles and replaced that battery last week

It seems like the short answer would be a possibility of bad Diodes or Throttle Body needing cleaning or replacement. My likely vote being throttle body. There are several threads describing how to clean it yourself if you want to give that a try.

or you could get the codes and the diagnose. codes are the first step.
