Default Centre console - mystery connector on underside?

Would someone inform me as to what this connector is for? It does not appear to fit the ipod images I found online.

Thank you.

Default Cell phone connector

Once upon a time, cell phones were closer to acting and looking like land phones rather than TV sets plus IBM had not yet invented BlueTooth.

The connector is hence for hard wiring the phone to the infotainment centre.

You could even for a few thousand dollars, purchase a Land Rover branded phone with a 1" x 1" display that custom fit the connector.
