I bought a used 07 SE with 124K on clock. I would like to change out the old (static?) headlights for the self-leveling lights that come on the HSEs. Does anyone know if this is a plug n play install, or are the connections not there on the SE for steering and suspension input needed to inform the movement for the self-leveing lights?
You can upgrade from Halogen to Xenon plug and play (and changing CCF if you don’t want lights to flicker at start).
You cannot upgrade plug and play from Halogen or Xenon to Xenon-AFS, that will require AFS ECU.
Follow up question --- I bought used HIDs off ebay to replace my HALs and installed. The headlights come fine on but the turn signals on the new front light assemblys dont work, just a fast blinking. Thought it was a bad bulb but changed them and still same issue. I then noticed that the wires on the plugs on the car (LR3 07 SE) are 7 wires, whereas the HIDs had a cutoff old plug included that showed 8 wires. Is the wiring the issue or perhaps I need to reprogram the car with the an IID device to Xenon? (IID device coming today haven done yet). Or do I need to splice some wires? Pics attached, any help most appreciated. Original lights on car ebay purchase This wiring harness came with HIDs from ebay This is OEM wiring on car
Huh. In Europe it’s plug and play. I glanced at the wiring diagrams (you can download yours here: http://rave.stringsandints.com/LRL18...R3-Wiring).pdf) and it didn’t seem like turn signals would have something special for NAS.
Just to verify, you used W5W bulbs, not LED, right? I ask as fast blinking tends to mean that the vehicle thinks there is a fault with the lights.
I used the turn signal bulbs from the old light assembly, which probably wasnt the best way to test. I will get the proper bulbs from Atl Brit and test again. Will also have IID tool soon so can change to Xenon in settings. Thanks for your help --- Im going to figure this out! i am inordinately fond of the look of the HID lenses...
