if it 2005-2007 the maintenance light can only be reset by a shop.
and is it a simple task, well yes and no but you need to take off the large plates underneath.

Members, 05 LR3 oil change, 50,000 miles. I see you need to drop a skid plate...is the oil filter exposed by droping this plate as well? I see a member has indicated the garage has to reset "service" light...has anyone used scan tool to reset the lights? I have an Equus 3130 OBD2 scan tool and it indicates resets are possible using this tool. Thanks Rover friends

only thing that can individually do it is blackbox solutions but that is for an individual vehicle. Everything else is a few grand at least for the ability to do it. The hawkeye doesn't even reset the maintenance light.
