Found that you can buy a copy of the factory snorkel new on eBay 177 shipped

Says v6 but Attaches same spot so doubt there's a difference , same style top as OEM , gonna buy one when funds come up

One on my d1 is a copy like this And works fine

Link doesn't work as is, but if it's the one I think it is, I e-mailed back and forth with them for a while. They adamantly claim that this snorkel will not fit the LR3 V8. Don't know why, but they claim the LR4 is a different fit. They even "went back to their tech dept to verify". Again, I have no idea what the differences are (if any), but that was my experience. If anybody wants to try it out, let me know the outcome!

Yeah iirc when I bought my d1 cheapo it was only supposed to work on the diesel engine, works fine

The pics on this lr3/4 snorkel show all the same brackets that are included with the OEM one from rover so idk

I will redo the link

For the price of the OEM, the safari version is much better. As far as I am aware, the cost differences between the ebay/etc snorkels and the Mantec/OEM/Safari comes down to the quality of the plastics used. Safari commissioned a comparison done between their plastics and a chicom copy of theirs. UV degradation was an issue, brittleness was an issue, I forget the rest. I understood the plastics difference when I held a safari out of the box, their materials are excellent.

Will probably be fine with chicom, but as horrible (and I mean horrible) as it was to install a snorkel on these in the first place, I would NOT want to do it again 5 years later (or sooner).
