Default Compressor Shaking Violently

Hi there,

Brand new here, just bought my first Land Rover, 2005 LR3. Amazing condition inside and out with 155k miles.

Previous owner recently replaced compressor, front and rear valve blocks and all struts at dealer.

I heard a terrible knocking noise today each time I start it. Opened up compressor cover and it is shaking so violently it it is hitting metal. Runs for a like 15 seconds, shuts off, and “Suspenion Fault, Normal Height Only”

What could make this shake so bad? Mount/rubber all new.

Help! Tried searching high and low.

Has it always made this noise?

I ran into a cheap Chinese knock off that was making crazy noise.

If it just started than one of the mounts/isolaters has failed.

Snap a pic next time it’s open.

Thanks for replying.

No, it was quiet as a mouse. It was a brand new Hitachi unit installed. It also sounds like its struggling to pump...slows down, then stops and fault light turns on.

Im guessing your bracket is cracked and a connector is loose or stressed.

Ive seen the cracked bracket before, but never resulting in a fault.

The new compressor does not come with a new bracket.
