Default Coolant capacity

Hello.
Pls advise how many liters of coolant a disco3, year 2005 takes. I plan to flush it and i need to budget accordingly. I will factor in the mixing ration to determine how many liters to buy before mixing to fill the reservoir.

DexCool (OAT, orange stuff)
15L dry fill, 9.5L refill

I have rear AC, not sure if that affects capacity

It does affect the volume of the cooling system. Vehicle with rear heater should have a capacity of 12 liters and 9.3 liters for a vehicle without…… according to the workshop manual, I mean, for the D3 V8. I assume it’s not “dry fill” but that the engine block has several liters (15 - 9.5 = 5.5) inside it at all times.

The only reliable way, I guess, would to use a vacuum tool to suck absolutely everything out, then fill to proper level on side of expansion tank, etc.

🤷‍♂️🤯🥶

So . . . just buy 2gal of coolant, 2gal of distilled water, flush, then fill til its full. Leftovers for eventual topping up.

Bleeding properly is the real fun!

Amen.

All but guaranteed to have some air in there no matter how much bleeding. Plan on stopping 5 min into the 1st drive and burping it

Default Coolant

Thanks to you all.
Its actually an HSE TDV6.
And for you to appreciate, let me add that i want to flush the coolant because i think i have been using low quality coolant for about 3yrs. I recently started topping uo like 250mls every 2-3 weeks which was never the case before. So, i think its the coolant evaporating because the mechanic says he can not see any leakage.

my radiator was weeping/crusting at the seam between end caps and body - no drips or puddles, very hard to notice.

In a properly sealed system, coolant can't evaporate out (unless you overheat and it vents out as steam). There has to be a leak or a head gasket issue if you're having to add to it that often. I'd do a rigorous visual inspection and a head gasket test.
