Default Cooler Box

We have had our 2006 CPO LR3 HSE for about a month. The only complaint so far is the cooler box. We can't seem to get it to turn on, and I wanted to find out other advice before I took it in to the dealership for such a small thing.

I understand it takes a bit for it to cool down. It doesn't seem to be any cooler a few to several minutes after flipping the switch. However, the light also does not come on. The dealer said it OC'd good before we purchased it.

There is not much on this feature in the manual other than 'this is how you turn it on.' Unfortunately there is not much that came up in several different search engine queries.

Obviously this was not a make or break feature for us in purchasing, however it would be nice to use it for its intended purpose (i.e. not sunglass storage). LOL!!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

if the fuse is good its a simple circuit. power and ground. everything else is the cooler box itself.

if it has those two then its a new one.

Thank you for the input. Fuse and all such good. I forgot to mention that the hubster (20+ years as a mech) had already checked those. To the dealership it goes...
Again thank you for the input!

If the dealer replaces it figure $1K for parts and labor. If it were my truck, I would pull the box out, check the relay and other stuff on the circuit board on the bottom of the box- including the fan motor, and if no joy head to the junkyard for a used one. If no used ones available, only then would I drop the coin on a new one...and I'd save the labor by putting it in myself.

Tell your hubby about the Possum Lodge credo: "If the women don't find ya handsome, they should at least find ya handy". Ergo- he should be able to figure it out unless he's Fabio.
