Default Oil for an old girl.

So, I picked up an 08' LR3 HSE last week. The PO had not had it long enough to interrogate for past service, so I am going through a list of things to change based on unknowns.

OIL - this engine has, knock on wood, no oil leaks. No leaks at all. Looks like ever. No discoloration. That being said, I want to keep it that way.

143,000 miles and I live in HOTlanta, GA.

So:

Castrol Edge 5-30? (Ihear this is OEM spec)
Castrol Edge 0w-40 Euro Spec? (I have two of these laying around already)
Rotella T6 5w-40? (Loved this stuff in the past)
Rotells T6 5w-30 multi car? (special order only currently and $30)

I'm not going to ask you all to beat the what oil is best dead horse. I know I can Google this subject to death but it the results are alllll over the place. My LR3 has almost 150,000 miles and I want to know what is best for that.

That being said, she sounds like new running.

Also, filters? OEM, Bosch, or Mann?

Quality 5w30 I stick with Edge or Mobile 1 syn. I stick to brand name filters no off brands.

Also in the hot south in Augusta.

We put Royal Purple 5w/30 and Royal Purple filters in every 4.4 AJV8 that crosses our path.

i send all my personal oil changes to Blackstone for analysis. I’m currentky up to 8k mikes per change with positive feedback from Blackstone.

Why so surprising that it's not leaking? Is the 4.4 known to leak? Mine doesn't (knock wood) and I'm at 126k miles.

I had and rebuilt a Disco II. Plus, the old adage that a Land Rover that does't leak is an empty one.

I'm just surprised to go under any car at 150k and not find signs of a single leak. The only thing I found was that the zip ties had popped off the steering boots. This caused some of the grease to leak out. New zip ties and they are good.
