Default Crack in dash

Hello,

I have been looking for a used LR3 for a while now. One-owner, well maintained, garage kept, low miles, all service records, etc.

So I think I have found a really good one, but the only problem I have found appears to be cosmetic. There is a crack in the dash (see attached pictures). There is just this one crack, the picture is from different angles. The car has obviously been garage kept, but it is strange that it has a crack.

What do you experts think? I have not owned an LR3 before, is this a common issue? Do you think the crack could spread and get worse?

Thanks

Only thing that would bug me about this is that the cracks seem to run along existing "perforations" in the dash where the ABS is. Could mean it would spread more easily.

I have the same exact crack in the same exact place. I think it may be where the air bag is???

Has the crack got worse over time on the LR3 that you have? That is more my concern. And have you tried any ways to patch it without replacing dash?

I just purchased mine in December of 12 and it was there when I bought it. It doesn't seem to have got any larger but I have only owned it a few months. Sorry not much help.

It should be fine, its from sun exposure. My truck has it too.

2 years ago I bought a 2006 LR3 with 73,000 miles on it. There were 2 small rips in the leather seats on the side where a dog was jumping in and I had a leather guy come out to the house and fix the seat....the work was beautiful the company is called "color glo" and you can look them up on the internet. I think it is a national franchise. They did not have one in my town so I meet the person at a friends home in Salt Lake City. I have no idea where the rip is now..... It took about 1 hour for the for the repair. They also do color restoration if there is fading....If that is the only thing wrong then I would give this a look up and see what you find out. I was very happy with the results....

same cracks here as well, garage kept, and little sun exposure... crappy material I guess. I'm thinking about how difficult it would be change out.

What I noticed also are cracks coming up from the vents on the top left and right of the dash.

I believe there is an airbag in that spot, and a cut out for it to deploy.
