DIY battery replacement
I thought I read somewhere that if you remove the positive and negative cable for your battery to swap It out it does something to the computer and you won't be able to start her up after. Is this true? Doesn't say anything about this in the lr3 shop manual.
I need a new battery. Things are acting weird.

I have attached three sections from the LR3 manual.
Another way to "fool" the computer is to use a set of jumper cables and keep power from another battery on the cables when they are removed from the battery.

So if I attach jumpers to my battery connectors when they're removed, and attach other end of cable to another car battery, the computer won't know the difference, is what I think you're saying. Question: the car I connect the cables to... engine off or on?
Sounds like with Option 4, I shouldn't have any issues. I've heard guys doing "something" wrong and having to get towed??

Just make sure you wait a couple minutes before disconnecting, secure and isolate a Negative and Positive leads with something non conductive like foam insulation ,away from body and parts, so you have enough room to place and install a new battery.
Obviously, this goes without saying,-N lead first, then +P . Reverse order when installing.Good luck.
You may or not loose a FM presets , also a radio clock will probably have to be set as well, bass and trebles ...but that is about it.
