Default Driver exterior door handle replacement.

Does anyone have a step by step for replacing a door handle....let's say one thing lead to another and I am now missing a door handle drivers side.
  1. Tried reprogramming key and didnt go as planned.
  2. Went to work on the next thing, rear tailgate latch as the acutator died
  3. Was able to get to the latch and open from the inside and left the cable accessable till I get another actuator. Bought a new latch just in case.
  4. the key was in the ignition and I closed the rear hatch after working on it and the everything locked.
  5. Had a spare key cut several days before and got that to open it up.
  6. Door handle broke when trying to open (pulled out all the way)
  7. Spare key broke from key fob.
Lost my s@#$

Did I mention it started to rain.
Now I have a custom key.

Have new door handles but not sure if anything else is broken and how to put back to test. I have the PDF of handle replacement but since the way it dislocated from the door not sure what might be broken inside.

  1. Need a new gasket.

    Custom door opener.

When you open the door there should be a black round plug in a hole that allows access to the torx bolt holding the door lock cylinder in. Loosen that bolt, DO NOT REMOVE IT, and this will free the lock cylinder and allow you to remove that. Then you can slide the handle in, the most forward part first. You should see that part has a track and a curve. Then when it is in slide it forward to lock it into place and test it. The reinstall the lock cylinder

Thank you. I'll try that out tomorrow. Do you know where I can get a good diagram of it so I have some reference points?
