Dumb Q - Bleed to change bleed "T"?

FYI having bled the entire loop, the bleeder T is entirely unnecessary. You could stick a bic pen body in there for all that it is needed.

Every dealer tech I asked about it just does it the old way.

I replaced my 06 HSE T with a straight Brass piece. No more brittle "weak link" in my cooling system & when I removed it "some" coolant did come out. I simply removed the T, replaced it with the straight brass piece used two new hose clamps and called it a day, and I didn't bleed the cooling system. Zero issues and that was nearly 8k ago.

I'm not sure what the PO or maybe my mechanic did, but I've never had a bleeder valve. The break in the hose where it should be is literally overlapped (one end inside the other). The PO seemed to be wise to common issues based on maintenance records, so wouldn't be surprised if it was something they did. Doesn't leak, so if it ain't broke...
