Talking ECU location

Hi all, new to the forum. I have an '05 LR3. It is my daily driver. It has several warning lights on the dash. I took it to a local mechanic and had an extensive diagnostic done to determine the cause of the errors. He informed me that the ECU was fried and that I need a new one. Upon investigating the errors, I had done an ECU reset which did not work (unhooking the battery), I replaced the battery which did not change the errors, I also replaced the back up switch and the warning lights are still there. I have ordered a used ECU, but have been unable to locate on the internet where the main computer is located to remove it and send it off to get flashed. If anyone out there can help in informing me where it is located that would be great.
Thank you for your help.
Steve

Sorry I didn't specify, but the main computer. The brain of the vehicle that controls all the other ecu's.

VIN specific, used not possible. Plus I’d bet $500 against your mechanic that’s not the problem.

I would make sure the software is up to date by having Land Rover do an upgrade.. takes about an hour so the cost is not prohibitive.

Also, posting a list of the codes on here can enable the collective to help in a more tangible way.

Maybe we can better help you isolators the issues. Did you replace the rear brake lights? If a brake lamp goes, it can also cause a bunch of issues. Maybe explain here all the issues you are having.

You know I hear the brake light being out will cause a ton of issues. I drove around for a week with one out no problems. Replacement was an off the shelf Sylvania bulb also no issues.

Back to the OP I am with abran on the ecu not being the issue. Something else has gone sideways here
