Electric and Lock issues
Apologies if this has been addressed somewhere, but I couldn't find anything.
I occasionally get a "drivers door open" notification and the interior dome lights refusing to turn off, while the drivers door is securly closed. No amount of opening or closing the door will fix it. Eventually it just stops. I'll park at work and come out for lunch and the light will be off.
Additionally, less common, I will press the button to lock the doors on the key fob and the car will honk, but the doors won't lock.
Any ideas?

replace drive door latch
Due probably to a malfunctioning drivers door ajar switch, your 3 thinks the drivers door is still open and hence will not allow the locking to function and also keeps the interior lights on as would be normal for an open door.
The interior lights automatically turn off sometime later as a function of the "time out" feature.
The following is copied from a pdf referenced below.
DOOR AJAR SWITCHES
A door ajar switch is incorporated into the latch of each door. When a door latch opens, the respective door ajar switch opens and disconnects a ground from the CJB (central junction box) .
Below is the link to a 17 page pdf from which the above quote was copied. The pdf gives a pretty good explanation of the locking system. As houm_wa says, I expect the problem is a defective door ajar switch which is I think built into the door latch. As such, the driver door latch would have to be replaced.
