Electrical Lock Issue
Hello,
I’m new to the forum. Looking at a 2006 LR3 SE. Previous owner stated there was a sunroof leak but he had it fixed. Now he’s telling me when you get out of the car and lock it from the electronic door lock on the door all the doors lock but as soon as you shut the drivers door it unlocks. Not like it stays locked and you can just open the door but the door acts like the key is left in the truck. FOB isn’t working so I’m guessing the battery is dead and the LR is sensing this? Sunroof also doesn’t work but I’m guessing that just needs to be reset? Or is this all related to water damage from the sunroof drain leak? Any help is appreciated. Seems like a clean car other than those issues.

I think I've found the issue after a couple youtube and forum searches. Seems like the connections are corroded and the battery in the fob might not actually be dead. Seems like an easy fix and I'll attach two youtube video links since a lot of people seem to have this issue. The first video the guys remote isn't working. He splices the green and white wire back together and it works fine now. I'm probably going to buy this truck and pull it apart and update on it. I'm really considering the truck because it has a brand-new transmission and all new suspension.
The FOB is passive, not active. So there is no sensing of anything. It has two separate issues. It could be a lock sync issue which a hard reset may clear up. Hard to say at this point. But yes, the FOB could be dead or could be wiring. The FOB will still start the truck with a dead battery, the battery is a separate system in the FOB and only for remote functions, not starting/security.
Hey Dakota. I figured out that the lock and unlock feature on the console is working as it is supposed to. However, I find it odd that I can lock my LR3 no problem with the key fob but it won't unlock. To me this means the truck is receiving a signal just fine from the fob. I found the green and white wire but haven't opened it up yet. I believe it is supposed to be three wires total? is one lock and one unlock from the receiver to the actual locking mechanism?
