disco 3 of 2006, 200kkm, very charged (equipped raid)
it turns like a clock, except ...
... steady and steady speed on the highway
during a change of pace, in particular stress due to a slight coast, "ding" orange light engine anomaly, then loss of power, then black smoke
emergency stop strip, locking and unlocking, disappearing of the indicator, it is distributed again ...
to resume qq km away
it seems that this problem occurs even more when using cruise control
it happened to me after 1300km downhill France / Morocco
or during a recent test on 50km of highway, with valleys on the end!
someone would have a magic idea?

 

You said black smoke and France, so..........Is this a petrol or diesel engine?

Don't know of any diesels LR3 in North America, (but they could hiding somewhere).

A bit more info about the car could help us help you.

i am in France, yes and it is a diesel engine
land rover discovery 3 tdv6
dating 03/2006, with nearly 200 000km
equiped for toursim raid (no competition, no speed, just family travel)
