The EPB is one of those cool inventions that is "awesome when it works." If you don't know what I mean, find lots of space, get going about 40 MPH and pull/hold the lever.

...but at least when it's not working it lets you know!

 

You don't need to cut the cable, but I would pull it our of the assembly and zip tie back to itself. Any unplugging or fuse removed will result in a fault.
