Default Extended Warranty

Just signed the papers for my 07' LR3 HSE! After reading through all the helpful posts I thought I would buy an extended warranty at time of purchase b/c of the increase in price with the passage of time/miles. I was quoted $2,300 for an extended policy (w/$100 deductible) that took my coverage out to 6yrs/75k. The vehicle I bought has 8k miles on it and 39months left on the factory warranty. Does the extended quote seem reasonable? I thought I would check with the experts before I made any final decisions.

Thank you!

I'm assuming it was the Land Rover extended warranty and not a third party (which some dealerships offer); in which case yes it is. In fact that's quite a low amount. Mine was just at $4k for 7yrs/100k w/$100 deductible, but that was last January on an 06 with 30,000 miles. Here's a more specific write up:

And this was before the change to TaTa motors.

A certified used car from the dealer comes with the extended warranty for 6/75 included in your purchase. That is why I desided to purchase my 06 HSE from the dealer vrs a private party. I got a great truck with 11,500 miles, anextended warranty all for less moneythan any private partyLR3 I pursued. If you are at the dealer why are paying extra?

Loving my first Land Rover.

Get more information on what you are buying and who's extended warranty they are trying to sell you. If it is not factory, call Rover and find out if you wait till just before your factory warranty runs out, what will it cost you to buy theirs, which is by far a better warranty.

I just had the same problem with my 2016 Range Rover Sport (SUPERCHARGED). I replaced the water pump, but it wasn't the problem. It was the top hose crossover tubes that were leaking.

But, once you replaced the crossover tubes, you mind as well I replaced the followings:-Land Rover LR4 Range Rover & Sport Supercharged Water Pump 3.0/5.0L Genuine OEM (LR073711) $254

-Land Range Rover Sport Thermostat 3.0 V6 OEM Genuine (LR117568) $103.95

-Land Range Rover Sport Supercharged Thermostat Top Hose Crossover Tube OEM (LR092992 & LR090630) $120

-New Thermostat to Engine Tube Heater Hose For Land Rover Range Rover Sport ( $35)

-Land Rover Oil Cooler Outlet Pipe Seal O-ring (LR030593) $10

(some Water Pump Kit has this part already included)

-Land Range Rover Sport Bleed Plug Water Pump Thermostat Crossover Tube Pipe $12 (some Water Pump Kit has this part already included)

I also replaced the 2 Belts.

-LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT 2014-ON 5.0L PRIMARY and SECONDARY BELTS

It's a 3 to 4 hour job. It will cost you around $500 Labor on top of all these OEM parts. Find a good mechanic. He or she will have to remove the Supercharger if you have one.
You can also search for video on LR4 and L494 Water Pump Replacement. You'll learn a lot. Hope this help.
