Default Factory winch with Warn Wireless control

Has anyone successfully used the Warn wireless control on a Land Rover Factory winch?

No. But does it not just replace the wired "remote" at where it plugs in? Thus if it plugs in, it should work, no? That is how my winch works at least.

Well, one would think so.
Problem is that the Land Rover winch already has 6 wires running to the socket for the controller. the instructions for the wireless controller say to add a ground wire in an open slot between two of the wires. Without a good picture showing where the slot is it is difficult for me to confirm which slot connects to ground. I reached out to Warn (since it is a 9.5 XP) but have not heard back, but then it was a holiday weekend.

Once plugged in I cannot even get the red light to come on, so there is a power connection issue to be sorted out. The control box is bolted to the inside of the factory steel bumper, and I would need to pull the bumper to get to it. I am trying to avoid that if possible.

If had a good picture from the back side of the controller socket showing the wires AND THE SLOT, I may be able to figure out what my problem is. that and good wiring diagram showing where the 6 wires go.
I figure I will get it sorted out........... or not.

The only reason I am trying this as the wire for the controller I have is showing some wear and will need replacing sometime after I retire, so I figured I would buy one now before I retire.

Thank for the reply.

Jeff
