Default First time Land Rover --- LR3 Owner

Hello,

Just bought a 2006 LR3 HSE with 139k miles and meticulous service records.

Since I'm new to the vehicle and new to Land Rover, what are some physical/mechanical things I should get checked for?

Some maintenance highlights:
Transfer Case and F/R diff. fluid at 113k
Brake fluid flush at 113k
Coolant replaced 113k
Transmission (pan, sleeve, fluid, gasket, drive belts) at 114k
F/R pads/rotors at 116k
Battery at 116k
etc---

P.S. Does anyone know what brand the wheels are? I plan on getting them swapped out for 18" Terrafirma steelies soon, but am curious.

Anyone know what brand these wheels are?

I'd remove the bleeder valve for the coolant and replace it with the aftermarket brass one.
I'd check that the updated front diff breather valve/cap is installed; otherwise do that (that's an easy DIY).
I'd buy an IIDTool from GAP Diagnostics.

I'm in WA as well; if you want to know some places to take it off-road, DM me.

Sincere thanks for this!

I would like to install some rock sliders at minimum before heading out to trails, but will definitely hit you up for the 411.

Seriously considering an IIDTool more so if they'll be compatible with the new Defender.

Looks like the first two things I'll be doing are the brass coolant bleeder valve and the front diff breather valve (if missing)

You're welcome....for the diff breather valve, the newer one is noticeably oversized; that's how you know if it's installed. I doubt that the IIDTool would be compatible with the Defender. It's pay now or pay later, if you're gonna keep your LR3.

Man....I can't decide how interested I am in the Defender. It's cool but it's not. No frame...that bugs me. It's like a better-proportioned LR3 w/o a frame.

....and then there is the new Bronco!

I'm waiting 3 or 4 years regardless.
