Default Fog lights on with high beams?

Anyone know how to keep the fog lights on with the high beams? This was a pretty easy mod on my ‘02 GMC Yukon and some of the BMWs I’ve had in the past but I can’t seem to find anyone who has done this on the LR3.

Well for one its illegal, so there is that. But it may be possible to make an adjustment with a GAP tool and set it for a market that allows it. Otherwise you will just have to get fancy with relays maybe. The system itself is all computer controlled.

Not sure what the use of that would be.

1. When the high beams are on, it's bright AF and your fogs would not be noticeable.
2. With high beams on if there really is fog there would be so much retro-reflection that you won't be able to see jack.

Frankly, I'm just thrilled that I can turn on the foggers without the headlights. That works a treat in real fog, and is something my old Montero could not do.

I have put in LED bulbs in my fog lights that have better output than the halogen bulbs and I know well enough to not use high beams in the fog. I was just hoping to have the added light down low with the high beams on. I guess when I have time I’ll go over the wire diagram and sit in the truck with my test light and try to figure out what signal is being taken away from the fogs when the high beams are on.

I know this is not pertinent to your original question, but I will mention that my off-road lights (mounted on the A-Frame Brush Bar) are wired just like that. They ONLY come on when my high beams are on, and since I can aim them, maybe a similar setup can suit your needs.

I also added some recent ditch lights using a pair of brackets that attach to OG spot and give me a huge boost including side to side amber or 250% white light . They are aimable and I primarily use them on a 5 mile unpaved section of NC-197 south through Barnardsville to Weaverville . It's a largely unused mostly gravelled road in Pisgah Forest and got its share of damage including numerous tornados and mudslides plus literally thousands of down trees which have been cut as required.

Even if I go north towards Burnsville there is no a 120 yard lane missing where it fell 200' into Elk Fork. Unpaved side (south past Big Butt trailhead at Cane River Gap) has a pair of sister bridges missing and they made a bypass.

Anyway, long winded way to say I want to be seen on that 2200' drop over three miles of switchbacks and otherwise superbly twisted state highway.
