Fuel line and fuel vent routing diagram?
So... I got everything packaged up on my fuel pump replacement and... something's not plumbed right or I have a blockage in the fuel supply line (doubtful, but possible).
Does anyone have a hose routing diagram for the 4.4 (gas not diesel) fuel pump and fuel regulator? I can find lots of documentation on the diesel, but not gas. Thanks in advance.
Edit: specifically I'm looking to understand whether a loose vent hose without a connector fitting is supposed to attach to the cover or if it is intended to remain free in the tank. So it's an in-tank diagram versus an in-car diagram that I'm looking for.

Ok, so looking at the workshop procedure a random pipe I found in the gas tank *should not* be attached to the open fitting in the tank cap (even though that fitting perfectly fits the extra hose). I suspect blocking that hose interferes with the pressure regulator. I have a new locking ring clamp on order (they are tamper proof so when you get to a certain torque, the securing nut rips off by design). Time to drop the fuel tank.... again.... at least this time I know exactly what I'm doing

I do not recall a random pipe in mine. The regular just has three hoses, one from pump to it. One from it to the tank output at the cap. Then a last one that connects to the regulator itself and dumps the fuel back into the swirl pot if I recall - helps keep it full.
I wonder which fuel pump have you replaced. Was it part #WGS500051 or LR016845 ?
Back in the early LR3 days there was a P001 Safety Recall which included replacement of fuel pump to new style ( part LR016845).
The information that I gathered from thread on one of the forum members, who got to the bottom if this fuel pump part number confusion ,
If:
- your LR3 has never had P001 performed, then your need WGS500051 fuel pump,
-your LR3 has had recall completed PRIOR 2010, it still needs WGS500051, regardless of what Land Rover dealer is usually telling,
- your LR3 has had Poo1 done during or after 2010 it probably needs fuel pump # LR016845.
I gather that early recall, dated in 2007 allowed technicians to modify existing pumps without replacing it, specifically modifying venting/pipes coming out of the tanks.
So now if anyone needs to replace fuel pump, dealer is always asking if one has two of three vent tank before ordering. Hope this helps.
I will try to find the link to forum discussion on the subject.

Yeah, I had read that posted, very informative. Fortunately the pumps (old vs. new) were an exact match. I suspect the 'extra hose' I found in the tank is one of two (IIRC) 'swirl jets' but am not 100% sure.
