Default fuel system. Help

Help! recently and abrupt, my vehicle's gas gauge went from 3/4 to showing empty even though I knew there was still gas in tank. So i figured 'Oh well, I'll just keep track of miles. it worked fine for a week then one day it acted as if fuel pump wasn't pushing gas. I thought it was electrical so I removed the positive cable from my battery for an hr to clear any codes. I re applied it to the battery and "shazam!" it started. drove it for another 3- days... then two days ago it started acting as if the gas wasn't be brought to the engine. tried the battery cable idea and this time it did not work...still no gas going to the rails.. I know this because i push on the valve and no gas is coming out. dropped the gas tank. I replaced the pump. turned on the vehicle and tried to start it...to no avail. and still no gas is getting to the rails. what am i missing?

any ideas? fuse? relay? how can i test the relay?

2005? Only 2005 seems to have the fuel rail valve, luck you! Wish I had that....

Anyway, passenger side (if in the US) wheel well towards the back, pull the wheel well liner. But it might be easier to pull the whole thing given how it installs. Then you will see two connectors that are held to the bulkhead, yet the harness of those two may be laying on a large metal bolt-on "horn" at the frame. You need to use a good light and inspect those wires for rubbing on that metal. There is a very likely chance that is the issue, especially 2005 model year.

No. The frame horn is a big steel brace that is either welded or bolted to the leading edge of the frame.
