Army - how many miles you at? I would expect the rears to hold up longer than the fronts. I am at 130k miles and having just done the fronts, which *may* have been replaced prior with some cheap ones. Not sure. Trying to plan on when I should tackle the rears or start things about them.

Thanks for the link, i checked that one out last night.. Yeah ill look at doing myself but need a puller set and maybe make a bracket like he did. A good mate is still in the game as a mechanic and has a home workshop with everything or his actual business so might just swing him a carton of beer to use his press !!

Cheers, yes ill do both at the same time and pop to a mates who has the equipment, but good excuse to buy a new puller set.. just needing to make a bracket if needed could be a pain so think ill use a mates shop.

I almost bought a press so I could do them myself lol.

Dakota, the 07 was at 155k miles I just rolled over 160k today on the 06. Going to do both of the rears and be done with it when I get back from duty out of state. A new ride will be delivered while I’m away so I can drive that while I have the whole rear apart.

ive got 229,000 kms on mine its an 05 so if thats the first set of bearings its not bad, i have other toy and a good mate with two old classics as well so a press could always come in handy but also might be easier to drop off or use another friends garage to do it. its one of those how often will you use to justify when other parts are always going to be needed !! Lol like a LHR door actuator playing up and right from door check strap the just went, not to mention the AC actuators playing up now... he he he landcover electrics.

Assuming your 00 Excursion is the 7.3 in decent shape, don't ever sell it. Leased a new 2000 7.3 Limited and to this day I wish I had kept it.
