Default HDC and fluctuateing rpm

Hey guys I'm new here...I have a couple issues im looking to fix in the future.

First, when I used HDC to test is was very crunchy sounding. The brakes are very smooth otherwise..no faults and no noise. Are there separate pads for the the HDC? Or is that normal? If they use all the same components i dont know why it would make such a chruncy/grindy sound.

Second, I get some fluctuateing RPM when under a slight load. Seems to mostly happen under a slight load and between 1000-2000 rpm. I replaced the TB already thinking it was the TPS going out but it didnt fix the issue. Thoughts on where to look next?

Thanks guys!

HDC "crunching" is normal. It pulses the brakes at 40 times per second, so that's what you're hearing.
