Headliner Spot Repair Fix?
Hello - curious if anyone has any experience with fixing headliners. Mine is in great shape most everywhere but has a few small areas where it's starting to come loose. Is it possible to secure those spots somehow so it doesn't "spread" ? Thanks
Once it starts to fail is will continue. The only temp fix is using a steamer which can penetrate the fabric enough to get the glue a little active again. But it probably wont last super long. A proper full re-cover is best. I was quoted $500 for mine to get done, but I plan to do it myself. Already did the a-pillars anyway.
Not sure it would work on the foam backing of the LR3, but on a D2 we had for adventure travels (read that as camping and beating it up in the mud) we just used multi color textured trunk spray paint on the cardboard backing and put it back in.
Again I would not do that to my wifes daily driver, but mine? maybe, maybe not.
My best advice is pull the whole thing and re-glue your self, or pull it and take to an automotive shop and have them re-glue/ refinish and reinstall it yourself.
Hope this helps
Jeff
