Default Hearing a hiss....

...from near the air tank/gallery.

What is the most likely culprit? An air line/connection? The central valve block? A crack in the tank itself?

Anyone experience this? Thanks in advance!!

The tanks can easily rust through.

I've read that...is a "hiss" a typical symptom?

So should I replace the tank or is there a cheap fix that folks do?

If its a rust issue, probably easier to replace. Keep in mind it holds up to 250psi. So if its leaking in one spot and you somehow managed to mend it, it may end up leaking some place else. A new tank is about $120USD the last time I looked, maybe cheaper.

Default Thanks Dakota...

...that's likely what I'll do. If it's indeed the tank and not something like a bad line connection.

You could disconnect the tank and plug, somehow, the air line going to it. Still hear the hiss? Well then its not likely the tank and you go can hunting. But if you can really hear the hiss they are usually pretty easy to locate. Its the leaks that don't make noise that are a total pain.
