Heater Blower issues/gremlin
Hi all,
I am 1 month into ownership of an 05 LR3 V8SE with 97k (love this truck, btw...seriously, better than i ever thought a British truck could be) and have encountered my first gremlin. The heater blower tends to not work on first start up - in auto mode or manually adjusting fan speed. if i shut the truck off and restart it will go back on - sometimes i will need to mess with the fan speed **** other times not. Winter here in the KY and trending a bit cold. fortunately the seat heaters work like champs.
does anyone out there have a suggestion or has encountered a similar problem?
thanks in advance.

Similar issues. Already replace resistor and replacing blower motor tomorrow. I'll let you know. If your issue is consistent (my blower motor seams to have a mind of its own. Stops randomly) you may want to swap a relay in the BJB to see if it fixes it. If so, $3.99 for the 40 amp relay. Won't kill ya.
thanks for the advice. ours is pretty consistent, so maybe the relay it is.
strangely, if you start the truck with the headlights on, it seems to do the trick. ...anyway... please let me know of the blower motor replacement goes. ...and what is the BJB?

Battery Junction Box. I replaced the blower motor last Saturday and she blows like a charm. I did a video tutorial on it although it's really bad and I haven't posted it.
I can't say your issue is definitively your blower motor. I tried the "repair cheaper stuff first" approach and I ended up replacing three things vs. just going for the blower motor in the first place (Relay, Then Resistor, then blower motor).
the Blower motor install took one hour and most of the hour was spent looking for the right tool to fit in the space you have to work with, and removing the glove box which requires a "special tool". I ended up cutting the pins out with a utlity knife and found a metal, similarly shapped pin at the home depot for 1.50 to use after. Highly recommend it.
I'll post the video tonight and you can have a good laugh at my mediocre filming and mechanical skills...
