Height Sensor Question
#21
I think houm_wa is more or less right. The calibration is done per-side if I remember correctly, so you match the left to the right or vise-versa.
As for the alignment, unless you've radically changed the ride height you shouldn't need redo the alignment just for a sensor/calibration. Now if you raised/lowered the truck a couple inches, or if you have some other reason then sure, but just changing a sensor does not require an alignment.

Remind me, @StreetsofCompton do you have an IIDTool? I don't think having 4 new sensors vs. 1 or 2 or 3 will change your re-calibration procedure. Also, I don't think you need an alignment. I mean it wouldn't hurt but I don't think it's required after sensors and re-cal.

So I tackled the right rear sensor first. No problems, other than that I didn't have the exact tool to make removing the two bracket screws easier. Nothing a little multi-tool + a T20 bit + electrical tape couldn't remedy. That side took a little long than anticipated, but got it done. Moved to the rear left side, and after loosening the first lug nut, I was almost sunk when the factory lug wrench decided to **** the bed. Seriously, I broke the damn thing. Thankfully, I had gone to my rail yard for a nice flat, level surface that I don't have near my home. I was able to find a proper breaker bar and got the wheel/tire removed. I then realized that the orientation of the LR bracket is different(at least on my LR3). the bolt that sits closest to the side of the car, was in the top left position (easy access) but that means the other bolt which sits diagonal, was in the bottom right of the bracket(less than easy access). My ghetto rigged tool mentioned above, was to bulky to utilize on the last screw. Further highlighting the need for proper tools. I went straight to ACE, bought what I needed and came home. Just about the time my boy woke up from his nap, so I put the the remainning work on hold. Hope to get the sensor replaced tomorrow and the calibration knocked out.
As for the alignment, I do want to run a 25-40mm lift as my new "standard height" so I do need one. But I'm glad to know that it doesn't need one just for sensor replacement.
Thanks guys!

Wait until all the stupid chrome caps on the lugs get beat up and you have to hammer a socket onto them. That's another 'special' detail on these trucks.

Thought I'd include a pic of the bent lug tool, haha.
