Default Help with New Wheel Arch Molding?

I had a blow out and it tore up my wheel arch molding (left rear). ive been looking for replacement parts. anyone dealt with this before? I saw some at roverparts.com, but appears to come in one color and guess id have to get it painted.

Wheel Arch Molding Left Rear Door (Genuine Part # DGP000155PCL ) - Land Rover body panels/fittings/trim exterior from Atlantic British

i may go by the LR dealership and see what they suggest but wanted to post here first!

saw a good youtube about putting it back on. wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to get the part(s) with the correct paint match? im also dealing with potential paint job if wont buff out...and i see some spots that def wont.

thank you!!

Kinda confused... look like you have an LR3 by your pictures, but the LR3s did not have painted wheel mouldings. Painted mouldings came on the LR4s. So... perhaps a previous owner painted yours?

As far as installation, it's extremely simple. Just a bunch of clips that you can see in your picture (the clips come in two parts... one part sticks in the hole in the quarter panel and the other part sticks to the wheel moulding. When mated, they click together. The pieces that you have left in the quarter panel now should just be removed (e.g. just punch em out with a screwdriver or something).

Then, I believe there are a few of the larger black plastic fasteners (just take a look at the other side to see where they are) and _maybe_ one screw... can't remember.

Actually, 2009 LR3's had painted moldings. Because it was only for one year, you might have to go to the dealer to get the painted parts. I'm not sure if the LR4 moldings are interchangeable (or if the colors carried over) but it might be worth a try as well.

You may also want to investigate going through your insurance depending on how expensive it is. It should be covered, minus your deductible.

Interesting. I did not know that.

Regardless, the OP is dealing with the same sort of thing that I'm dealing with right now. I have a front parking sensor that gives me problems from time to time, but they generally don't sell these sorts of parts already painted. Wheel arches, parking sensors... whatever. They don't come painted from the factory. So, the parking sensor that is bad is one of the inner ones that's painted and I would have to take it to a shop to get it painted green. I haven't even looked into it because it just seems like a huge hassle.

The price of the wheel arch doesn't seem too terrible (relatively), and I think a new set of clips are included with the purchase of the wheel arch.

It looks like your rocker panel may have also come off? If that's the case, try to find somebody nearby who installed rock sliders. They won't have a need for theirs anymore and might part with them for free (or deeply discounted).

EDIT: Nevermind, that looks like it's just the door moulding...

thanks for the replies. looks like its about $380 worth of parts. had to get them all separate. if the clips dont come with it, it will be almost another $40. was getting conflicting answers, but turns out it wont come painted.

had an estimate for $300 to paint those two small pieces and a second estimate for about $100. those sound reasonable? second guy said he would buff the scratches for $50-75. another guy said $125 (its basically two panels to buff).

Yeah i think ill can put it back together. hope so. luckily i was only going 30 mph at the time. had just exited the interstate and was about to get back on!

It's really not that big of a hassle to take the new parts to a paint shop and have them painted. Carefully remove one of the good arches so they can not only match to paint code, but have a visual representation of your paint.

@cmb6s - same goes for you - take the sensor in to be painted. Shouldn't be too much to have it done. I took a bumper cover from our D2 to a local Service King and it was only about $120 - not bad if you ask me.

For the sensor: order a rattle can of your color and a rattle can of clear from automotivetouchup.com.

Something that small won't show your lack of skill as a painter.

@cmb6s: I'm assuming you are not a painter, my apologies if you are a Picasso in disguise.

I got the parts in and had them painted for $75 and looks like new. I put it all back together but ran into a small issue;

the new door seal that screws in from the inside, into the outside door molding comes with the screws, but the wheel arch molding i had painted is missing the "white plastic pieces?" that the seal should screw into. anyone familiar with that piece / part? i thought the wheel arch came with it but i must be mistaken. the body shop said they didnt remove any pieces. the bottom line is that i need those plastic pieces so i can screw the door seal into the wheel arch. anyone know if i can buy this piece and where? alternatively, i guess i could get a lock nut from Lowes or something, but i dont want to break anything. ?

thanks!

i also have some touch up paint ordered (from Paint Scratch) to fill in the scratches (tiny circular scratches from tire steel belt wires) that didn't buff out. ill post pics if it turns out ok.

EDIT - just found this...is this the right piece (HN1)? not sure what language this site is in either so hard to read / identify.

EDIT 2 - i think this is it! i should be able to order from this site if so.
