No power - As indicated, check the large fuse in front of the battery. Also check the cable through to the starter motor as it is known to rub on the front diff and short out.

Thats scary. Is that for all Disco 3? I never heard of that. When I did my starter on the 4.4 I dont see how such a thing would be possible.

Threads on UK forum. Seems like the cable becomes loose or clip breaks. May only be applicable to those doing a lot of off-road stuff but has occurred.

Possibly, starter is on the RH ( driver ) side so might drop down and rest on the diff nose.

How do I check the large fuse in front of fuse box with the positive cable going through it. What tool is needed and is the fuse accessible or special order type

Just pull it and look. I think it just snaps apart with two bolts that secure the fuse to the positive lead on each end. Its just a high amp strip fuse. A decent auto parts place usually has them. I think its rated for 400 amp.
