Default Hi beam problem

Hello.
last night i replaced the air compressor, so i unplugged the battery for a little bit. Today I noticed that my hi beam wont work with light switch on auto. If I flash, it works. when i push the lever out for continuous hi beam it doesn't work. When I flip the swith off auto and push the lever it works in both flash and continuous setting. Back at auto lights and it only works on flash.. ANy ideas?

Default The manual says:

Interesting problem.

The description of operation for the switch in the manual says:

The high beam and headlamp flash positions are connected on separate wires to the CJB and ground. When a switch selection is made, a circuit is completed from the CJB to ground via the switch contacts.

Since there are two switches and two path to ground in the Central Junction box, there must be an issue in the headlight switch or the junction box. I am looking at the wiring diagram for you but it may be later today before I have a chance to get any more info.

Don't forget to check your wiring as you trace the problem too...

Default CJB affected?

I see that the switch goes directly to the Central Junction Box (CJB) and then to the lights themselves. If you get the hig beams on at one setting, but not the other then issue is either the headlight switch is not making a proper contact or the CJB is the problem. Try disconnecting the battery and do a hard reset and see if that will fix the problem.

Before you disconnect the battery, make sure the engine has been off and all doors closed for a few minutes, that way you can reasonably sure the car has "gone to sleep" Maybe that will get things back in order.

Thank you for all your replies.
I disconnected the battery terminal, cleaned excess of dielectric grease- Battery was installed at the store- and reconnected it. all works good now. It makes me really happy, last thing I'd want is go ahead and check all the wires and switches. BEWARE OF DIELECTRIC GREASE EVERYONE.
