Just thought I would mention you can buy a paste which is low melting point solder powder and flux mixed together. You can coat a surface with this and flow it on with less heat than usual. I think I bought some on Amazon., KEK Solder Paste.

Do you use a soldering iron when you use it? Seems like I always see people use that with a hot air solder tool.
honestly would probably be a good application, as long as it does t reflow sitting in a hot car in the summer sun.

Well, I wimped out and didn't apply anymore solder.. I just dipped a single strand of copper into the little dot I applied, and bent it around to the back of the board, sticking it into the hole (test hole?) And epoxied it.
Switch functions now. This was faster and easier for me. BUT wow. when this fails in a year I'm getting that solder paste, no idea that stuff existed.

In my case it was the ride height lever and my Malinois stepped on it and caused the same issue.

Default Brilliant description with pics

Just removed the terrain control panel, removed the circuit board which had some minor corrosion , cleaned with Methylated spirit, re assembled and Ddiscovery 3 now does all its party tricks, access normal and high mode.

Thanks you so much.
