How to diagnose bad CA bushings?
What is the best/most reliable way to diagnose bad control arm bushings? I have an 06 LR3, and if memory serves me correctly, only the rear LCA have been replaced. Took it out and wheeled it pretty hard last weekend. Almost immediately on the Interstate drive home, I thought I was hearing some clanking or thudding sounds when hitting rough pavement, or small holes. Its been a week, and there is definitely some vibrations/noises happening. I do not notice it when accelerating or braking, or when either turning left or right. I only hear the noise and feel extra vibration in the steering wheel when going over uneven pavement. Sometimes, Ill see a small dip in the road and think, "yeah, Ill hear it going over this", and nothing, but then a very subtle change in the pavement and sure enough it happens.
How would I go about inspecting, or what am I physically looking for to tell if its time for replacement? And whats the best way to determine if its upper or lowers? Im sure this has been answered before, but my search didn't turn up the info I was looking for. Thanks guys!
Also, if it turns out it is in fact time to replace them, is it a DIY or just better to pay a shop?

low speed on rough pavement, usually on curb thresholds or driveways where there is a gap or drop from concrete to asphalt for example. Listen for a clop clop sound not unlike horses hooves on say pavement or cobblestone.
