I've got 176,112 as of right now on my 2005 LR3 SE. No major problems that I have had to do anyways!!

In January 2010 when I bought it the dealer spent a chunk of change to sell it to me I guess they thought it was fine but the local Land Rover dealer found lots of issues! Looked at the repair bills left in the manual and it had control arms replaced, hydraulics for the bonnet, hydraulics for the tailgate/hatchback(whatever you would call it lol) and a couple other things! Grand total on the repair bill was a smidge under 4k.
I have however had warning lights randomly come on and go away as they please and just today a Transmission fault light "stop vehicle safely" warning appeared, after letting it sit for awhile off at my house I went to check it again and lights were normal! My TRS still wont work though Making a new post about my current issues.

Possible your rear diff electronics are stuffed. If that is disconnected, it will produce a similar error... may explain TRS? dunno

90,000 The usual bits, original tires at 20k, (now NITTO) original brakes at 22k (now EBC) 2 4 wheel alignments, sway bar rubbers, a frame rubbers (bushes) rebuilt rear diff (whine/grind noise) replace diff, transfer case, p/s fluids with Royal Purple. EBC Rotors lasted from 20k to 90k (still good). Only annoying thing is the various rattles coming from the back seat area since new, and the flubbed back seat replacement by the dealer.

If you need a diff rebuilt, contact me for parts. You don't need to spend 2-5k.

I need help!!! My transmission is going out on my 2005 LR3. I only have 61,000 miles... don't know why! I have been given quotes of 5-6k for new, 3k for rebulit ones. Is it cheaper to have my own rebuilt?

Describe better the symptoms you are having before you throw away a bunch of money. Send me a PM with your location, etc. perhaps we can find the right place to go if you need some work done. Parts are available if you need them.

Excellent video of how the ZF torque converter works, which is more often than not, what goes wrong. The next video, after that shows a torque converter being built (not ZF)

repair price example, in Australian Dollars I assume; courtesy busman on aulro.com
X1 ZXF-626011 6HP26 FILTER FOR STEEL PAN $17.60
X1 ZX-626010 STEEL PAN 6HP26 (REPLACES PLASTIC) $186.35
X1 ZPG-626006 6HP26 GASKET FOR STEEL PAN $9.38
X21 ZX-626030 BOLTS FOR STEEL PAN $85.26
X10 1 LTR ATF Z FLITE 6 OEM 6 SPEED ZF FLUID R-128 $411.20
X1 181566 TORQUE CONVERTER $750.00
X1 WORKSHOP MATERIALS ETC $40.00
SUB TOTAL $1,499.99
LABOUR: $800.00
10% GST $230.00

FINAL TOTAL $2,530.00 INC GST
20,000KM WARRANTY OR 12 MONTHS WHICH EVER FIRST.
If you have a Auto Trans Shudder, start looking at the TC first.
This was certainly a less expensive option, and the outcome l am very happy with.

probably these transmission posts should be moved to a new separate thread.

Thumbs up ...and still going strong

2006 with 99k. With no major issues. Which is good when the nearest dealer is over 2 hours away.

2005 w/ 97k. Only had to change the thermostat. Easy job, took about 10minutes. Oh, I almost forgot. I also had to get a the front pulley bearing replaced. It started making a wicked noise, and I figured it was the harmonic balancer, but it wasn't. Luckily that was under warranty for that. Required the whole front clip to come off. I still love my Rover nevertheless.

Default 100,000 and going for 200,000...

Just rolled over 100,000 this weekend on my 06 LR3. Would not hesitate to take it on a crossXcountry road trip (again). Best truck I have ever owned.

Default LR3 miles are 153,000 on my 2005 SE7

LR3 miles are 153,000 on my 2005 SE7, new struts/shocks recently, have one front wheel hub bearing i am replacing today....otherwise a good Rover for me. Still have issues with either water infiltration near front firewall JBOX i assume. Some weird electrical things are happening from time to time. Alarm will go off within 20 mins of locking it up. Backup lights may burn all the time. Weird crap...any ideas peeps??

Default 07 LR3 HSE HD > 30k miles

Bought the truck in March with 26k miles. Biggest problem I have to-date was the TPMS. Truck been used off-road many times already (most recent "damage" snorkel was knocked loose by tree). Awaiting for my GNVP lift kit. (bottom out on last run.) Need good body armor next (skid & slider). Love the HD package (A must in the mud). So far so good knock on wood. Brake and fluid chg is my immed maintenance. Recommendation on brake pads? Truck will be towing my race car next (combined weight 5500 lbs)
