Default Incorrect VIN on Dash- How to resolve

I have a 2005 LR3 HSE with 97K miles titled in Georgia using VIN on drivers Door Sticker which matches VIN on Frame but not the VIN on dash visible through wind shield. The VIN on dash is for a 2009 LR RR Sport that has an active registration in another state per GA title representative. I assume that at some point a prior owner replaced dash for cosmetic reasons???

I am in process of selling vehicle and the duplicate VIN on dash has become an issue. Has anyone else encountered this issue and if so how was it resolved?

Any and all recommendations are appreciated.

The dashes on these disco3s crack terribly, this could be why it was replaced. I didn't know the RR sport dash would fit! Can you submit a picture?

What issues is the VIN tag giving you that makes you want to sell the vehicle? Could you simply cover it up?

Last, I wonder what dash that other RRS is driving around with?? Weird to think someone took off a useable dash and sold it, but kept driving the car! Most come from salvage yards or new. Could it have been a mix up at a dealership during repairs and the RRS has your dash? Now that would be ironic!

Default Thank you.

I am selling because I purchased for a second car and a tow vehicle but the LR3 is just too nice not to be a daily driver or a family car. I never noticed the discrepancy until I was taking photos for listing and saw dash VIN mismatch.

I was wondering the same thing about dashes switched by accident during a shared service visit as I know that there were recalls related to airbags and assumed dash would have to be removed to replace them.

I oils have assumed that this f was replaced the VIN would have been removed so this is a puzzle for sure. Photos attached.

Mismatched VIN on Dash for 2009 LR RR Sport per VIN lookup.

History of 4 prior owners plus me since February 2023. Registered over the years in CA, NJ, TX, MO, FL and GA.

Dash in great condition with no cracking or seperation.

Wow that's a great dash for an 07! Looks like mine, but sans cracks and cover. I read it's a really a big job to switch them out. There must have been some sort of issue under. Great dash!

Default New VIN Plate

[QUOTE=Any and all recommendations are appreciated.[/QUOTE]
Go to Amazon and search for Vin plate. Get a new one made and put it right over the dash vin plate. There are tons of options and they are not expensive. You can get it next day.
